Universal Start/Stop Override Switch on BOFA Base 1

If your BOFA Base 1 unit is equipped with the Universal Start/Stop feature, the unit will turn on and off automatically when you start a job on your laser system. This is a very convenient feature as you do not need to remember to manually start your filtration cart each job.

There are, however, some cases where you may want to override this feature:
  1. Troubleshooting - if you are receiving an error message and the start/stop function is not working properly, you will want to override it to verify the fume extractor is otherwise functioning correctly.
  2. Manual Control - You can only use the automatic start/stop function if printing from Universal's Material Database. If you would like to use a custom material not in the database, or want to use the manual control function of the driver, you will need to override the automatic start/stop function.
Overriding the start/stop function is easy - just open the right door of the filter by loosening the two screws on the front, and flip the switch at the bottom of the unit inside the door. See the picture below:
