Setting up Your Creaform Account and Downloading Software for Creaform Scanners

We are excited to help you get up and going with your new Creaform Scanner. Your Creaform scanner requires VXElements, a license file, and a calibration file. You may also wish to install supported CAD software on the same computer. Here is a breakdown of the files needed:

Software - VX Elements V11 - this software is used to clean up the mesh, convert it to CAD entities and transfer it to CAD.
License File - VX Elements licenses - each scanner comes with a hardware dongle (should be in the case with the scanner) and a license file.
Calibration File - Creaform scanners are factory calibrated. The results of this calibration are stored in a file. This file gets linked to your scanner. You must have the calibration file that is matched to your scanner's serial number. You will need to install this calibration file into VXElements prior to using your scanner.
Optional Software: VX Elements supports direct transfer to the following CAD Products: SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Fusion 360 (requires VXElements 11), or SolidEdge. If you plan to use one of these CAD packages with your 3D Scanner, you should have that CAD package installed on the same computer you install VX Elements.

There are two license options - a single seat of the cloud license with online activation, or a 50 seat network license with a hardware dongle. Refer to your order, or ask your Amtek sales rep to understand which you have. Note: if you have a hardware dongle, it is critical that you keep it in a safe place. It looks similar to a USB drive, but it only contains your software license. It will come in the box with the scanner.

To access the software and license files, you'll need to create an account on Creaform's site. To do this, you'll need the serial number of your scanner, which is found on a label on the bottom of the scanner.

Step 1 - Visit https://cp.creaform3d.com/clogin and click "New User"

Step 2 - Enter your contact information and serial number of your scanner.

Note: Creaform manually reviews each account. It may take a day or two to receive a response from Creaform. You can expedite the process by calling their support number and requesting they set up your account asap. If the correct person is available, they generally can do it quickly. To request this, call 1-855-933-4446. Press 1 for English, then 1 for technical support. Tell the person who answers you've just requested an account and want to know if the set up process can be expedited.

Step 3 - Once your account is set up, log in and click on "Products". This will bring you to a screen that shows your scanners with their serial numbers, your various software packages and license files, along with buttons to allow you to download them.

If you purchased a single Creaform scanner and this is your first scanner, your products screen will look similar to the screenshot below. View the screenshot below to understand what to click to download each file you'll need.

Note: VX Elements requires a license. If you wish to install VXElements on a single computer and you have the network license option described at the top of this article, you can still use it without the network by plugging the hardware dongle directly into the computer you'll be using VXElements on. Then you will install the VXElements license file onto the same computer.

If you are going be installing the license on your network, please view the Network License install instructions attached to this article.
