Sometimes windows creates issues with how it communicates with USB ports. When this happens, you will often see your Universal Laser acting strange. Usually, all the functions work properly. You can send a job to the printer, you can change the settings, focus the lens, etc. The laser carriage moves as expected an everything looks good...until you go to process your job. Then the machine will go through the motions, but does not fire the laser. Most of the time, this is solved by performing a USB reset. Here's how to do that.
1. Close the UCP (right click on the red icon in the tray by the clock in windows)
2. Power off the laser
3. Unplug the USB cable from the computer
4. Reboot the computer
5. Open the UCP
6. Plug the USB back in
7. Power on the laser and run a test job
At this point, the job usually runs as expected.
