If your laser system will not power on, check the following items first:
1. Check to see if the power button in the Universal Control Panel (UCP) is grayed out. See image below:
If the power button is grayed out, check the following:
1.a - Make sure your outlet is functioning properly. Ideally you can check this with a multimeter, but you can also plug something else into the outlet to see if it works.
1.b - Make sure your power cable is functioning properly and is fully seated in the back of the laser system.
1.d - Try a different USB cable. The laser will not turn on if the USB cable is bad. We have seen bad USB cables cause this problem many times even though it does not seem like it would. The reason is that the laser does not have any on board computer. It relies on its connection to the computer for every instruction.
1.e - Try installing the Universal Control Panel (UCP) software on a different computer. If the software is not installed properly or has become corrupt, the laser system will not turn on.
2. If the power button is not grayed out in the UCP, try turning the laser on using the power button in the UCP. If this works, the power button on the control panel on the laser may have gone bad.
