If you open GrabCAD Print and attempt to connect to your printer but see a message that says Internal Error, the quick fix is to simply delete the printer out of GrabCAD Print and add it back. The message will look similar to below.
This generally happens when the printer has a dynamically
assigned IP address and the lease on the address expires. The lease is something set by the network admin, not the printer.
The permanent fix is to ask your IT department to make IP reservation for the
printer on the network. In order to do this, they will need the printer's MAC address. You can get the MAC address from the printer’s menu to
do so. The printer will stay in Dynamic network mode. Once the reservation is made, the printer will communicate its MAC address with the server on the network. The server will then respond with the IP address the printer should use. As long as the reservation does not get altered, the address will not change. This will avoid this error in GrabCAD.
Alternatively, your IT department can assign the printer a static IP address. In this case, they will provide you with the IP address to use. You will then go into the printer's menu, change the network mode from dynamic to static, then enter the address settings they provided. This will accomplish the same goal - a permanent IP address for the printer.
Since these requests do typically take some time for IT to process, you can simply delete the printer and add it back using the new IP address for the time being. To do this, you need to know what the new IP address is. This video shows where to find it, as well as
where you would get the MAC and change between static/dynamic mode:

Once you have the new address, enter it into GrabCAD Print in the box under Connect to a Printer via IP and click Add. The printer should begin communicating again.
