Installing Amatrol Multimedia Curriculum Locally

Installing Amatrol Multimedia Curriculum Locally

While the modern, preferred way to access Amatrol's curriculum is via eLearning at www.learnamatrol.com, some users would prefer to utilize the free, single seat of the older style multi-media curriculum that is included on CD with every Amatrol training system that ships. This guide will be a quick overview of that installation procedure. If you wish to install this multi-media curriculum on your computer, follow the guide below.

1. Locate the CDs that were included with your Amatrol training system. You will typically have at least 3 - one is the software that is used to manage the license and display the curriculum. Another CD is the curriculum for the training system that was purchased. The 3rd is the Instructor Print CD - a resource CD for the instructor.

  1. Amatrol Software Installer - Installs the license management utility - should be installed first.
Interactive Multimedia Curriculum - The curriculum for you specific trainer. Cannot be installed until the license management utility is installed
Instructor Resource Print CD - Resource Disc for Instructor

2. You'll need a CD drive on the computer. Locate a portable USB CD drive if needed, or insert each CD into another computer that has a CD drive and transfer the contents to a USB drive.
3. Insert the Amatrol Software Installer disc into the computer. Browse the disc and run the "Startup_testing" file. Ensure all 3 programs are checked and click Install Software

4. After this install completes, insert the Interactive Multimedia Curriculum Disc into the computer and go to the "autorun" folder and run "AMC_Install". You should be able to click the Install button to install the curriculum.

5. Once this completes, go to the start menu and find the Amatrol folder and click "Amatrol License Server Management". This is highlighted in green in the screenshot below.

6. Once that opens, you can click "Registration" and then Register software.

7. You will then be shown a window with your PCID. You will need this PCID as well as the Org ID and Password that is found on a label on your curriculum CD's to generate the activation code.

8. Now visit http://www.amatrolelearning.com/software. Now click "I only have an Org. ID"

9. Enter the Org ID and Org. Password found on the CDs:

10. You may need to create an account by entering you name. This will allow you to enter the software page for your school.

11. Now click add machine.

12. If this is a standalone install click PC. If it is a server/client install click Server. Enter the PC ID you obtained in step 7, give the machine a name, and click Save New machine.

13. This should generate the the Activation Code needed. Now go back to the Register Amatrol Software screen you got to by following steps 6 and 7. Enter the activation code and click the +. This should activate the curriculum on the computer.

14. You can optionally look for any software updates that are available by going back to the start menu and opening the Amatrol Software Updater program (highlighted in Red in the screenshot below)

15. Now click Update Software on this PC. Make sure all other Amatrol software is closed, then click next and follow the prompts. This should update all software and curriculum to the latest version.

16. Now you can run the software by launching the "Amatrol Multimedia Launcher" from the Start Menu. See yellow highlighted item in the screenshot below.
